FAQ's

What kind of photography do you do?
I specialize in photographing newborns, children of all ages, families and maternity. My style is natural, organic, simple and a little bit vintage with the focus on the child and/or family connections.

Where will you take my pictures?
My studio is located on the square of Medina and will accommodate babies or small children, although I do include a few parent shots with a newborn session. All other sessions will be held outdoors. I prefer natural, candid shots of you and your loved ones in parks or somewhere with beautiful scenery, but will also take plenty of posed photos as well. Please let me know if you have a specific spot in mind - I love to try new locations. But if you don't, I have lots of outdoor spots to suggest in the area.

When will my session take place?
I am usually booking about 2-3 months out. Studio sessions are scheduled for 10:00 am on weekday mornings. Outdoor sessions are best scheduled in the early morning or 1-2 hours before sunset. Please try to schedule your newborn session within ten days of birth. This is when babies are at their sleepiest and easiest to pose. Contact me as early as possible into your pregnancy to get your due date on my calendar as I only take on a few newborns per month.

How long will the session last?
Children and family sessions usually last around an hour. I want to allow lots of time for outfit changes, snacks, breaks, and time for the kids to feel comfortable around my camera and me. Newborn sessions can last up to three hours because posing takes lots of time and patience, with many breaks for feeding and cuddling.

How do I pay?
You can pay for your session fee by credit card by clicking on the Session Fees tab at the top of the website or by check. For print ordering, I accept checks, cash or payment through PayPal. You can pay directly from your credit card on PayPal's secure site or from an existing PayPal account.

Do you ever have "mini" sessions?
Yes, I do have occasional mini sessions, usually for holidays. Please follow me on facebook because that is where I post any sign up information.

What do you shoot with?
I use a Canon 5D Mark III and 35mm, 50mm or 85mm lenses.

What happens if the weather is bad?
If it's raining or if someone is sick, we will simply reschedule. But it doesn't have to be perfect weather for your session, cloudy days are perfectly fine.

What should I wear?
That is really up to you, but the more colorful with textures, the better! Everyone has the white shirt family photos, but I want to capture your everyday personality. But please try to avoid shirts with logos or words. You should try to coordinate outfits, but not be too matchy-matchy. Newborns look best in their birthday suit! But if you have a cute hat or headband, bring that along too. I do provide all newborn props and accessories though. If parents or siblings will be included in any shots with your newborn, the simpler the better... big sisters in plain white tanks or dresses, big brothers with jeans and no shirt, parents in plain shirts with no logos, etc.

What happens after my photoshoot?
From my camera, I import the best pictures to my computer, which is typically around 20+ images. I then hand edit those images to fix minor blemishes or scratches, lighting, cropping, and any enhancements and creative edits like black and white, etc. I will post a sneak peek on my facebook page which you can feel free to tag for yourself or family members. Two to three weeks after the session, I will upload your images to your password protected client gallery on this site where you can place your order. The gallery will be available for two weeks and after that time there will be a $20 fee to reactivate it.

Your Photographer

Hello! My name is Annie and I'm a mommy to three smart, gorgeous little girls and a wife to a wonderful, loving man. I stumbled upon this career after my second daughter was born and I am primarily self-taught. But I have always loved photography, and think I have come a long way from my days of photographing my baby dolls and younger sisters, and dressing up as a "photographer" for 6th grade career day.

I love capturing memories and creating portraits for families that might hang on their wall for years to come or pass down through the generations.

My focus is on newborn portraiture, but I also photograph maternity, children and families. If you take a look at my work, you'll notice that my style is fresh and fun and I like to keep things clean and simple without too many props or distractions. I like to combine lifestyle and portrait work at each session to offer my clients a nice variety of images.

Your session can take place outdoors or at my studio in Medina, Ohio. The size of my studio is appropriate for babies or small children, but cannot accommodate families. Because of the custom nature of my work and the time I devote to each client, I only book a limited number of sessions each month. Right now I am most importantly a stay-at-home mom to my girls, so please try to schedule your session 2-3 months in advance of your preferred time frame to be sure to secure a date.

Thank you for visiting my site and for considering me for your family's portraits! I look forward to working with you!
